Hot cocoa is serious business at our house. As soon as the weather changes in the Fall our kids start asking for cocoa. Due to the fact that we consume a rather large amount of cocoa during the cooler months, I wanted to find a recipe that rivaled the store bought version.

The recipe below has undergone extensive taste tests and is approved by our daughter, who rejected a dozen or so other recipes before deeming this as "good". I'll take it. Personally I find it delicious, and as it sits in your cup for a bit the flavors deepen even more. Add some marshmallows and you have the perfect drink to accompany your most strenuous reading session or campfire supervision time.
