This year one of my goals for 2020 is to partake in the 52 Hike Challenge as a way to get outside on the regular and hopefully spend some time with the family. We are blessed to be surrounded by what feels like limitless outdoor adventures in eastern Washington and I'm determined to make the most of our neck of the woods by exploring it.
Many of the hikes you'll see featured are within easy driving distance of Spokane, Washington. They're not all going to be massive all day hikes - though I'm planning to sneak in a couple more challenging hikes for later in the season since there have been a few on my list that I've not had the chance to get to. Most of the trails I'll be sharing are adventures you can explore in a couple of hours or after work on a summer day (or winter if you're braver than me and want to bond with your headlamp).
Hiking is one of my favorite family activities - it's accessible, everyone always enjoys the time in nature, and we get to see bits of the world one trail at a time. I hope seeing our adventures inspires you to get out and play in the outdoors!
